These cowhide cold-condition mitts have a reinforced palm, a natural-rubber latex coating, and are insulated to keep hands warm. Mitts keep fingers together to retain heat and keep fingers warm. They are less dexterous than gloves. Cowhide is a durable and comfortable leather that maintains a good appearance over time. The reinforced palm increases abrasion- and puncture-resistance over standard gloves. The natural-rubber latex coating is flexible and elastic over a wide range of temperatures to provide a secure fit and a good grip when handling dry, light parts. It resists water, alcohols, and some ketones, but has poor resistance to hydrocarbons and organic solvents. Full-back gunn-cut mitts have a single piece of leather on the back of the hand and fingers to eliminate seams and bulk, making them more comfortable than mitts with seams.
