Compact AC hydraulic power units have a smaller tank than standard units, which allows these units to be mounted directly to the equipment being operated. The smaller tank size makes them suitable for powering auto hoists, scissor lifts, dock levers, and other light-to-medium duty applications with smaller hydraulic units. 

AC hydraulic power units (HPUs) connect to an electrical power source to power industrial tools and equipment such as automobile lifts, elevators, lift tables, and other equipment that is primarily stationary. Sometimes called hydraulic power packs, these units pressurize hydraulic oil to power systems and pumps. AC hydraulic power units generally have a larger capacity and are more powerful than DC hydraulic power units, which are battery-powered.
