STOW and SJTOW portable cord are types of service cord with a thermoplastic jacket that is oil-, water-, and weather-resistant. STOW cord is less flexible than SEOW and SOOW portable cord, and it will degrade under extreme temperatures and exposure to oil and chemicals. STOW cord is rated for 600V while SJTOW, a junior service cord, is rated for 300V. STOW portable cord is commonly used as an extension cord to power portable tools, floor maintenance equipment, washing machines, and portable lights.
