Impact-resistant phenolic tread wheels are made from continuous phenolic laminations that are wound over standard macerated centers. The wheels have smooth contours with no pockets to collect dirt. They have a higher weight capacity and provide better resistance to fraying and impacts than other phenolic tread wheels. They will not absorb water, even if submerged. These wheels resist oils, grease, gasoline, and mild acids and can handle heavy loads without damaging floors. They are suitable for use in wet environments and areas with rough floors.

These wheels have plastic or phenolic treads and cores that resist corrosion. The wheels' tread and core are made from the same material.
