Convertible plastic-shelf utility carts have a top shelf that folds down to convert the carts to a solid-back platform truck so they can carry items that would be too large to fit on the carts when their top shelf is in place. The carts' top shelf and bottom platform are flush, which allows items to slide onto or off of the carts during loading and unloading.

Plastic shelf and utility carts are lighter than metal shelf and utility carts and can resist dents, corrosion, and water damage.
