Pistol-grip needle scalers set their needle-holding barrel at a right angle to the grip, so users can control the pressure applied to the needles and hold the tool steady in a range of positions on vertical and horizontal surfaces. Their trigger switch activates the tool to strike the needles against surfaces to remove rust, mill scale, and paint. The needles are loosely bundled rods that move independently to follow curves and contours. They can be changed out for a different needle diameter or material as long as the needles are compatible with the scaler. Needles can be replaced when they break or wear out.
