Medium-duty NSF-listed sanitary plate casters are made of thicker steel and can bear heavier loads, tolerate more frequent use, and withstand more shock and impact than light-duty NSF-listed sanitary plate casters. They have double ball swivel bearings and swivel more smoothly than casters with single ball swivel bearings. These medium-duty plate casters are suitable for use on carts, racks, storage cabinets, waste-disposal trucks, troughs, and other equipment used in food-service areas, food-manufacturing facilities, industrial manufacturing plants, laboratories, and similar environments where the casters will be rolling over smooth, flat surfaces.
NSF-listed sanitary plate casters are built to satisfy the National Sanitation Foundation's (NSF) rigorous testing requirements for casters that are used in environments where they will be exposed to frequent washdowns, oils, or chemicals. They are suitable for use in environments where sanitary conditions must be maintained. These casters have a mounting plate that installs onto the bottom of carts, prep tables, food-service equipment, racks, and similar items. They are available in swivel and rigid versions. The swivel casters can rotate 360°, allowing equipment to change directions while rolling. The rigid casters roll in a straight line. Two rigid plate casters will often be paired with two swivel casters to allow the equipment to both maneuver around curves and obstacles and maintain a straight course while rolling.
