Product Description

Outdoor extension cords with multiple outlets consist of flexible electrical cable and are used to supply temporary power to more than one device from the same cord, such as a power tool and a light. They have a plug at one end and a molded outlet with two or more receptacles at the other end that the devices plug into. These cords have a more durable jacket than indoor extension cords to help protect against sunlight, moisture, and abrasion typically found in outdoor applications.

Extension cords are a length of flexible electrical cable used to bring power to a device located up to 100 ft. away. They are typically used when a device's cord is too short to reach a power source, such as an electrical outlet, or where outlets may be scarce. They have a two- or three-prong plug at one end that connects to the power source and a molded outlet at the other end that devices plug into. Extension cords with a single outlet have a single receptacle, while cords with multiple outlets have two or more receptacles. In general, the more power needed by a device, the thicker the extension cord (or lower the gauge) needs to be to support the electrical current flowing through the cord. Extension cords are commonly used to provide temporary power in a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications.
