AGM (absorbent glass mat) batteries are commonly used in emergency lighting equipment, fire panel or security systems, and electronics. They can also generate the burst of power required for startup applications. Their glass mat design keeps battery acid contained while creating minimal resistance within the battery to allow higher capacity and higher discharge rates than a gel-type SLA.
