Steel lock body padlocks have solid bodies, so they're more secure than laminated bodies, which have rivets that can be tampered with. They're more resistant to smashing than brass and aluminum lock body padlocks and are used to secure access to property. These padlocks are commonly used in indoor applications as they are less corrosion resistant than brass, chrome-plated, stainless steel, covered, aluminum, and zinc-plated steel lock body padlocks.
