The 3M™ disc pad face plate securely supports a fiber disc (sold separately) of equal diameter. Using a 3M disc pad hub (sold separately) and holding a fiber disc, the face plate is held in place with a retainer nut (sold separately). This assembly means the face plate can be easily changed without removing the disc pad hub, allowing the operator to use a single tool for multiple applications from heavy grinding to finishing a workpiece. Easily changed without removing the disc pad hub. Using correct face plate maximizes the life of the abrasive. Hard density for heavy metal removal, large welds, etc.
