Protection During Firefighting: Self-contained breathing apparatus and
clothing should be worn when fighting large fires involving chemicals. Determine
the need to evacuate or isolate the area according to your local emergency plan.
Use water spray to keep fire exposed containers cool.

6.3. Methods and Material for Containment and Cleaning Up
For Containment: Steps to be taken in case of spill or release: Determine
to evacuate or isolate the area according to your local emergency plan. Observe
all personal protection equipment recommendations described in Sections 5 and 8.
For large spills, provide diking or other appropriate containment to keep
from spreading. If diked material can be pumped, store recovered material in
appropriate container. For small spills, wipe up or scrape up and contain for
salvage or disposal. Clean area as appropriate since spilled material, even in
small quantities, may present a slip hazard.
Methods for Cleaning Up: Final cleaning may require the use of steam, solvents
detergents. Dispose of saturated absorbent or cleaning materials appropriately,
since spontaneous heating may occur. Local, state and federal laws and
may apply to releases and disposal of this material, as well as those materials
and items employed in the cleanup of releases. You will need to determine which
federal, state and local laws and regulations are applicable. Sections 13 and 15
of this MSDS provide information regarding certain federal and state

See heading 8, Exposure Controls and Personal Protection.

SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE

7.1. Precautions for Safe Handling
Additional Hazards When Processed: Use adequate ventilation. Product evolves
acetic acid when exposed to water or humid air. Provide ventilation during use
control acetic acid within exposure guidelines or use respiratory protection.
Avoid eye contact. Avoid skin contact.
Hygiene Measures:

7.2. Conditions for Safe Storage, Including Any Incompatibilities
Technical Measures:
Storage Conditions: Use reasonable care and store away from oxidizing materials.
Keep container closed and store away from water or moisture. This material in
finely divided form presents an explosion hazard. Follow NFPA 654 (for chemical
dusts) or 484 (for metal dusts) as appropriate for managing dust hazards to
minimize secondary explosion potential.
