General purpose nylon strip brushes with flexible direct-mount backing each have densely compressed bristles that are securely held in a flexible backing that can be mounted to irregularly shaped surfaces where a rigid-backed brush could not be used. The brushes' nylon bristles provide good resistance to wear and abrasion and are effective when used in wet or intermittently hot environments. Also known as stapled-set strip brushes, strip brushes with direct-mount backing mount directly to conveyors. The brushes guide and separate items on the conveyor and clean debris from conveyed items and conveyor belts and parts.
Strip brushes with direct-mount backing, also called stapled-set strip brushes, have integrated plastic holders and can be directly mounted to conveyors. When the brush is worn, the brush and holder must be replaced. The plastic holder is lighter and provides more corrosion resistance than the metal holders used with standard strip brushes. Brushes with shorter bristles are stiffer and are good for aggressive applications such as heavy cleaning. Brushes with longer bristles are more flexible and are suitable for gentle applications such as positioning light objects or dusting. Strip brushes are mounted along conveyors to direct and separate items on the conveyor and clean debris from conveyed items and conveyor belts and parts. They are typically used in warehouses, package handling areas, manufacturing and assembly facilities, and distribution centers.
