Help: Cross Reference Numbers

What is a cross reference number?
Imperial maintains a set of databases known as cross-references. These are used for mapping both customer-specific, and industry standard item numbers to Imperial's part numbering scheme.

What is cross reference searching?
When using cross reference searching, this list of part numbers will be compared against the item number you supply, and any matching part numbers will be presented for your perusal and selection for order adds.

How does the search engine work?
When searching, we use a begins method of matching. This means that the part number you supply will be compared against the beginning of the crossed part numbers that we store in our system. For example, if we store 65202x54 in our system, a search for 65 will produce a match, but a search for 202 will not. This method is used because it returns rapid results for your review.
