SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES

4.1. Description of First Aid Measures
First-aid Measures General:
First-aid Measures After Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest
in a position comfortable for breathing. Call a POISON CENTER or
if you feel unwell.
First-aid Measures After Skin Contact: Rinse skin with water/shower. If skin
irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention. Take off contaminated clothing
and wash before reuse.
First-aid Measures After Eye Contact: Rinse with water. Get medical attention if
irritation develops and persists.
First-aid Measures After Ingestion: Call a physician or poison control center
immediately. Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs, keep head
low so that stomach content doesn't get into the lungs. Aspiration may cause
pulmonary edema and pneumonitis.

4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Symptoms/Injuries: Skin irritation. Vapors have a narcotic effect and may cause
headache, fatigue, dizziness and nausea. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. May
cause redness and pain. Prolonged exposure may cause chronic effects.
Symptoms/Injuries After Inhalation:
Symptoms/Injuries After Skin Contact:
Symptoms/Injuries After Eye Contact:
Symptoms/Injuries After Ingestion:
Chronic Symptoms:

4.3. Indication of Any Immediate Medical Attention and Special Treatment
Provide general supportive measures and treat symptomatically. Keep victim under
observation. Symptoms may be delayed.
General information: Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s)
involved, and take precautions to protect themselves.

SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

5.1. Extinguishing Media
Suitable Extinguishing Media: Alcohol resistant foam. Water. Water spray. Dry
powder. Dry chemicals. Carbon dioxide (CO2).
Unsuitable Extinguishing Media: Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this
will spread the fire.

5.2. Special Hazards Arising From the Substance or Mixture
Fire Hazard: Extremely flammable aerosol.
Explosion Hazard: Contents under pressure. Pressurized container may explode
exposed to heat or flame.

5.3. Advice for Firefighters
Precautionary Measures Fire:
Firefighting Instructions: In case of fire: Stop leak if safe to do so. Do not
move cargo or vehicle if cargo has been exposed to heat. If tank, rail car or
truck is involved in a fire, ISOLATE for 800 meters (1/2 mile) in all
also consider initial evacuation for 800 meters (1/2 mile) in all directions.
ALWAYS stay away from tanks engulfed in flame. Move containers from fire area if
you can do so without risk. Cool containers exposed to heat with water spray and
remove container, if no risk is involved. Containers should be cooled with water
to prevent vapor pressure build up. For massive fire in cargo area, use unmanned
hose holder or monitor nozzles, if possible. If not, withdraw and let fire burn
Protection During Firefighting:

SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

6.1. Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment and Emergency Procedures
General Measures:

6.1.1. For Non-emergency Personnel
Protective Equipment:
Emergency Procedures: Keep unnecessary personnel away. Keep people away from and
upwind of spill/leak. Keep out of low areas. Wear appropriate protective
and clothing during clean-up. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled
unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Do not breathe gas, mist or
Ventilate closed spaces before entering them. Local authorities should be
if significant spillages cannot be contained. For personal protection, see
8 of the SDS.

6.1.2. For Emergency Responders
Protective Equipment:
Emergency Procedures:

6.2. Environmental Precautions
Avoid release to the environment. Contact local authorities in case of spillage
drain/aquatic environment. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.
Do not contaminate water. Avoid discharge into drains, water courses or onto the

6.3. Methods and Material for Containment and Cleaning Up
For Containment:
Methods for Cleaning Up: Eliminate all ignition sources (no smoking, flares,
sparks, or flames in immediate area). Keep combustibles (wood, paper, oil, etc.)
away from spilled material. Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth,
Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination. Never return spills
original containers for re-use. For waste disposal, see section 13 of the SDS.

6.4. Reference to Other Sections
See heading 8, Exposure Controls and Personal Protection.

SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE

7.1. Precautions for Safe Handling
Additional Hazards When Processed: Pressurized container: Do not pierce or burn,
even after use. Do not use if spray button is missing or defective. Do not spray
on a naked flame or any other incandescent material. Do not smoke while using or
until sprayed surface is thoroughly dry. Do not cut, weld, solder, drill, grind,
or expose containers to heat, flame, sparks, or other sources of ignition. Use
caution around energized equipment. The metal container will conduct electricity
if it contacts a live source. This may result in injury to the user from
electrical shock and/or flash fire. Do not re-use empty containers. Do not
mist or vapor. Do not breathe gas. Avoid contact with skin. Avoid contact with
eyes. Avoid prolonged exposure. Avoid contact with clothing. Use only in
well-ventilated areas. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Wash
thoroughly after handling. Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Avoid
release to the environment. Do not empty into drains. For product usage
instructions, please see the product label.
Hygiene Measures: When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Always observe good
personal hygiene measures, such as washing after handling the material and
eating, drinking, and/or smoking. Routinely wash work clothing and protective
equipment to remove contaminants.

7.2. Conditions for Safe Storage, Including Any Incompatibilities
Technical Measures:
Storage Conditions: Pressurized container. Protect from sunlight and do not
to temperatures exceeding 50°C/122 °F. Do not puncture, incinerate or crush. Do
not handle or store near an open flame, heat or other sources of ignition. This
material can accumulate static charge which may cause spark and become an
source. Store in a well-ventilated place. Store away from incompatible materials
(see Section 10 of the SDS). Keep out of the reach of children.
