USE OF PRODUCT: General cleaning and degreasing gel for hands, clothes, or
soiled areas requiring an effective, local cleaning agent. (Can
be used with or without water.)

Based upon chemical analysis, Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel contains no known
EPA priority pollutants, heavy metals, or chemicals listed under RCRA, CERLA, or
CWA. Analysis by TCLP (Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure) according to
RCRA revealed no toxic organic or inorganic constituents.
All components of Simple Green® are listed on the TSCA Chemical Substance
Inventory.

IV. FIRST AID MEASURES

SYMPTOMS OF OVEREXPOSURE AND FIRST AID TREATMENT
Eye contact: Reddening may develop. Immediately rinse the eye with large
quantities of cool water: continue 10-15 minutes or until the material has
been removed: be sure to remove contact lenses, if present, and to lift
upper and lower lids during rinsing. Get medical attention if irritation
persists.
Skin contact: Adverse effects not expected, although some highly
dermal-sensitive users may experience reversible reddening. Such individuals
should get medical attention if a response reaction occurs.
Swallowing: Essentially non-toxic. Give several glasses of water to dilute: do
not induce vomiting. If stomach upset occurs, consult physician.
Inhalation: Non-toxic. Exposures to vapors not of concern, but if dizziness
occurs, get fresh air.
V. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel is not flammable and will not burn.

VI. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Recover usable material by convenient method: residual may be removed by wipe or
wet mop. If necessary, unrecoverable material may be washed to drain with large
quantities of water.
VII. HANDLING, STORAGE & TRANSPORT INFORMATION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No special precautions are required. This product is non-hazardous for storage
and transport according to the U.S. Department of Transportation Regulations.
Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel requires no special labeling or placarding
to meet U.S. Department of Transportation requirements.
Storage at elevated temperatures (up to 194 F { 90 C}) will not cause breakdown
of the gel.
VIII. EXPOSURE CONTROLS

Exposure Limits: The formulation presents no health hazards to the user when
used according to label directions for its intended purposes, other than eye
irritancy.
Ventilation: No special ventilation is required during use.
Human Health Effects or Risks from Exposure: Adverse effects on human health are
not expected from Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel, based upon the available
toxicity information for the individual components and the laboratory toxicity
data for the whole product, as described below.
Eye irritation, common to surfactants or hard granular material in the eye,
should be expected from Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel. Skin irritation is not
likely with Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel.
Medical Conditions Aggravated by Exposure: None anticipated.
IX. PERSONAL PROTECTION

Precautionary Measures: No special requirements under normal use conditions.
Eye Protection: Specific eye protection is not required: however, caution
should be used to avoid eye contact by this cleaning agent.
Skin Protection: None required. Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel is
intended for use on the skin, and contains moisturizers and
emollients that can prevent dryness from frequent use.
Respiratory Protection: No special precautions required.
Work and Hygienic
Practices: No special requirements. Wash or rinse hands before
touching eyes or contact lenses.
X. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Appearance / odor: Viscous green gel with characteristic sassafras odor.
Solubility in water: Completely miscible in all parts except pumice.
Change of state: Temperatures up to 194 F (90 C) caused no change in the
physical condition of the gel.
VOCs: 5.7% per EPA Method 24/CARB Method 310.
pH: 5.8

Boiling Point: 100 C
XI. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY INFORMATION

Non reactive. Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel is stable, even under fire
conditions, and will not react with water or oxidizers. Hazardous polymerization
will not occur.
XII. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Laboratory Toxicity Data
Acute Mortality Studies:
Oral LD50 (rat): >5.0 g/kg (5.0mL/kg)
Dermal Irritation: No effects occurred in a standard test on rabbits: the
primary irritation index was 0 (nonirritant) on a scale of 8 (strong irritant).
Dermal Sensitization: No effects occurred in guinea pigs exposed to Simple
Green® Hand Cleaner Gel at .05 mL induction and challenge dosages: no dermal
irritation occurred.
Eye Irritation: Within 10 days after eye exposure without rinsing, 5 of 6
rabbits completely recovered normal eye appearance: one rabbit showed continuing
recovery at 21 days.
Carcinogenicity: Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel contains no carcinogenic
compounds as defined by the National Toxicology Program (NTP), the International
Agency for Research on Carcinogens (IARC), or the Occupational Health and Safety
Administration
(OSHA).
XIII. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel is fully water soluble and biodegradable and will
not harm sewage-treatment microorganisms if disposal by sewer or drain is
necessary.
Dispose of in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
XIV. OTHER INFORMATION

Containers: Simple Green® Hand Cleaner Gel residues can be completely removed
by rinsing with water: the container may be recycled or applied to other
uses.
Containers are in compliance with California Integrated Waste
Management Board's Rigid Plastic Container laws.
